Easy DIY Fluffy Slime!

Are you looking for something fun to do with your kids? I have the perfect thing for you. Saylor has been into that gross fart slime lately, so I knew this was perfect for us. This video (see HERE) showed up in my FB feed and I thought it seemed totally easy to do! No weird ingredients. All you need is:

In the original video I went off of, they made a huge batch, so I cut that in half. The amount of slime that I made was perfect for 2 kids, and would have worked well for up to 4 in my opinion. All you do is:

  • In a large bowl, dump the 5 bottles of glue. Then add the baking soda. Use 1/2 t for each bottle of glue. Start stirring!

  • Add your shaving cream. Use about 1/4 C for every bottle of glue…we eyeballed this part so you don’t have to be super exact. Keep stirring and working everything together! (We had 2 bottles of shaving cream and one wasn’t foamy, so be sure that yours is nice and foamy! A nice scent doesn’t hurt either.)
  • Add your food coloring and keep stirring.
  • Add a few pumps of foamy soap. This apparently makes it more fluffy.

  • Now is the fun part. Start squirting some saline into the fluff. I thought it was easiest to do this while someone else is stirring, so you can see the consistency start to change. Keep adding until you see that it is starting to not stick to the bowl. As soon as you can touch it without it sticking to you, take it out of the bowl and work with it on the counter. Keep kneading it as using as much contact solution as you need.

That is it! So easy, right? It probably took us about 5, maybe 10 minutes. The counters and things ended up a bit sticky, so for clean up I used a damp rag with some Goo Gone, and the sticky mess cleaned right up. For some reason the slime stuck to Saylor’s shirt, so be careful with that. It rinsed right out, it was just more of an annoyance.

Have fun with it and let me know if you try it! Saylor says she wants to make slime again tomorrow, but purple! Oh, I’m storing mine in just a tupperware container. We will see how long it lasts!

Our Nightly Routine!

Ever since Saylor was a newborn, we have given her a bath every night before bed. I don’t wash her hair every day, or even get it wet, but taking a bath became part of our routine early on.  Saylor has always loved the bath, and it’s been a great way to get the last of her energy out, as well as getting clean before getting into bed. Want to know the best part of taking a bath? Getting out and putting on jammies! Seriously though, Say right out of the bath, dressed, with wet hair is my favorite!

I recently was introduced to Finn + Emma. Not only do they have a wide range of products, including clothes and toys, they are 100% organic, eco-friendly, and they support fair trade. I got 2 pair of their pajama sets, in Triangles (what Saylor is wearing) and Scribble. Both sets are so soft and cute. They have a thicker waistband, which I like. I got a size 3T, and they will fit throughout the winter. Finn + Emma are giving you 15% off all orders over $50…go HERE! I highly encourage you to try out their jammies, maybe grab one for a gift, and check out their toys!

Poor Say is still not feeling the best, but she is sleeping comfy and cozy upstairs thanks to Finn + Emma!

Bye Bye Sticky Messes, with Goo Gone

Who else around here has a 3 year old? Or a messy husband (LOL)? Or even is into crafting? If so, I am so excited to share something with you I recently discovered. That’s right, I’m talking about Goo Gone Original Spray Gel.

Before I get into it, let me remind you that I have been potty training Saylor over the past 3 weeks or so (more on that later!). She has done so well, and she responded well to a reward/bribe system, lol. A major part of that system was STICKERS. Oh, stickers. I sort of hate them. They get on everything, and come off of nothing! Until now! Seriously though, Goo Gone saved some kitchen cabinets at a friends lake house we were staying at over the long weekend.

Saylor found her sticker stash while I was doing who knows what, and found her way into the kitchen and decided it was a good idea to put them on the pretty white cabinets. Luckily I caught her before too much damage was done, but I started feeling anxious when I couldn’t get them off easily or all the way.

Before the full blown anxiety set it, my sweet husband actually reminded me of something we had brought. Goo Gone! Talk about saving the day. All I had to do was spray a few sprays directly on the sticky mess, and wait a few seconds for it to tackle the mess. I took a paper towel and gently peeled off the remaining stickers, leaving absolutely nothing behind. YES!

This awesome cleaning product works for all sorts of situations! Crayons/markers/glue can be removed from painted walls. Those annoying price tag stickers that come on everything can be removed so easily! For those of you who don’t know, my husband and I own a carpet cleaning business and Troy uses Goo Gone for a lot of different things, too! For example, like helping to remove things like gum, ink, or oil out of carpet! This really is a product that every household should have.

Do not use Goo Gone on silk, leather, suede, rubber, faux stainless steel, drywall, unfinished wood surfaces, or unsealed stone.904eec0f-f311-476b-a262-440135968f3a_1.7f152409c4535950e722e6539c8ca509

Have you had any sticky, gooey, yucky messes you have had to deal with lately? Do you use or have you thought about using Goo Gone Spray Gel?  Next time you deal with such, I hope you reach for your bottle, like you know I will be! You don’t have anything to lose 🙂  #GooGone #sponsored #ad
