Collaborations & Influence Sites, Tips & Tricks

Hi! So I get a lot of questions regarding collaborations and that sort of thing, so I thought I would make a whole blog post about what I have learned, and some influencer sites that I use and my experience with them. I am in no way an expert, but I have enjoyed my experience with some and have gotten fun collaborations, so I wanted to share!

-My first tip is don’t be afraid to reach out to shops and brands that you want to work with. The worst they could say to you is no thank you, so I always say go for it!

-My second tip is to have good photos and post consistently. I am not the best at sticking to a “theme” on Instagram, but I know to others that is really important. I will admit, it is more aesthetically pleasing! I also need to be better about actually blogging. The more you are posting, the more people are seeing you, so you are staying relevant to them. I have heard that at least once a day (on IG) is a good amount. Look up good times to post and hashtags that are geared towards your followers.

-Also, it is okay to say no to things! I am still learning this, and learning the value of my time, but sometimes you just have to say no thank you. It is hard for me not to get excited over all the collaborations and campaigns available to me, but sometimes things just aren’t worth doing, and that is fine!

Now here are some influencer platforms I am a part of…

Influenster – This is the first influencer type site I started on, even before I was blogging. You don’t need to have a large following, you just need to be active. I have gotten a good amount of really great products from here, and the campaigns are easy. Sign up HERE.

Social Native – I like this one. You have to watch your “dashboard” for when campaigns open so you can apply, and most of the time they are paid opportunities. All of the collabs I have done through this are just a single post on IG, so it is quick and easy. These collabs are based on interaction, so it is perfect for everyone. Sign up HERE.

Revfluence – Love this one! I’ve had to put in more work for these campaigns, as most want a blog post & IG post, but I have gotten paid more also. I think the more followers/readers you have, the more companies are open for collaborating with. Sign up HERE.

Heartbeat – This one is fine. I am not really sure what they base their collabs off of, but I have gotten more free products than payment from this one. They have all been simple Instagram posts, so it is easy in that sense. They determine the pay rate for you. Sign up HERE.

Clever – I actually haven’t done any campaigns through this one yet, but I’m hoping to soon! They seem to have good brands they work with and they pay well. I will update this after I have completed some collabs. Sign up HERE.

Octoly – This is another one that I haven’t used yet, but I am signed up for. I have heard great things about them, and it seems like they work with awesome brands. Their site says you have to have at least 5k followers on Instagram, so keep that in mind. Will report back! Sign up HERE.

Here are a few other platforms that I haven’t tried or I am waiting to be approved on…

Preen.Me – I take that back, I have worked with them once. I am a little confused with their platform and how you get collabs, but I have gotten a bunch of really good Mustela products from them.

Acorn Influence – I have heard this one is amazing, I just haven’t signed up yet.

Anyways, there is still so much for me to learn, but I just wanted to share what has worked and been fun for me. If you know of anything else I should look into, let me know!

Getting Back Into Shape with Flex Society

…maybe. Hahah.

Okay hear me out. I know I have said time and time again that I am going to start working out and get back into shape, but this time I really am holding myself to it! I think for my sanity alone, I need to “just do it” (no pun intended). I don’t know when I lost my affinity for working out, but I suppose it was sometime between the ages of 21-24. So a long, long time ago! Growing up I was so active and athletic, and I even feel like I’m so uncoordinated now. I don’t know what the heck happened, but it is going to change! And I want/need you to help hold me acocuntable.

When I was pregnant with Remi I knew after she was born, I wanted to start working out in some way. I am not a fan of traditional gyms…you would have to cut my arm off to get me to leave my babies in the daycare to go workout. The horror! (No offense here people! I would rather stay at home and just not, haha.) I was looking into different at home type programs, but there are so many, I honestly didn’t know where to start or what I really was even looking for.

Plug Flex Society.

Just what I was looking for. It is a fitness program geared toward those who only have a few spare moments (hello, MOM’s, ME) to workout. All workouts can be done in 20 minutes or less, and there are 2 versions of the workouts, a light & advanced, so no need for equipment! Each day you get a new fat burning and toning workout sent to your phone. The workouts target specific body parts, but also works the full body for optimal fat burning. All the workouts can be done anywhere, anytime. You can do them at the gym if you’re into that, or at home (or even the park while Saylor plays) like I am into! The cost is only $15 per month. So much more affordable than other programs out there. That works out to about 50 cents a workout. This is also cheaper than any gym membership! You can also find out more on their IG at @flex.society.

I imagine many workouts will be done here. In my bedroom, next to my sleeping baby. I am going to try really hard to do what I can, but to do something for myself every day.

Now for the fun stuff. The gear! If I am going to start working out, I probably need some cute new workout clothes right?

Look how cute these Nike’s are! I could workout in these. V affordable, too.

Honestly if someone wants to buy me THIS whole setup, I will make you a batch of cookies hah! Lmk if you need my shipping address and size.

Anyways, I hope you join me on my fitness journey with Flex Society, and definitely check them out! It would be fun to create a group of us to hold each other accountable and do this together! Let me know if you are interested in that!

On The Night You Were Born

As Remi gets close to 2 weeks old, I figured I better sit down and write out her birth story before #mombrain enters full effect. It seems so long ago already, and I can’t believe it has already came and went. I was beyond ready to not be pregnant, and I still can’t believe that I am not anymore! This post is for my own documenting purposes, and I hope that I don’t upset or offend anyone with my story.

So, rewind to about a month ago at my 38 week appointment. I was 3cm dilated and DONE. So uncomfortable, not sleeping, swollen, just ready to have this baby. I asked the midwife casually how long they would let me go over before they would induce me, and she says, “Oh…you have rights you know. Since this isn’t your first baby we can induce you a week early if you would like.” SAY WHAT?! That was music to my ears and just what I wanted to hear. I told her I would talk to my husband and see what he thought, and possibly even pick a day to be induced! What a dream! Lol. So I call Troy and we decide on Thursday, May 25th. That’s a good date. My half birthday, even. So they call me the night before and let me know that I am “on call” (whatever that means) until 10am, and if I don’t hear from them by then to call the hospital. 9:30am rolls around and I get the call! Be here at 10:30! It still didn’t feel real, even as we were walking up to the hospital it didn’t seem real that I was going to have a baby soon.

So by 11:30am I am checked into my room and speaking with the midwives. Pitocin was about to be started, and I chose to hold off on the epidural until things started progressing. I delivered at Mountain Point for those who live in Utah, and I HIGHLY recommend it. I had the best experience there, the hospital is beautiful, the nurses were amazing, and my midwives were awesome. I couldn’t have planned out a better experience. Anyways! Pitocin gets started and it’s pretty uneventful for a 2 hours or so. I think I progressed to a 4, maybe 5, and I was having a good rhythm of contractions, they just weren’t super painful. 3pm hits and I decide to get my epidural so they can break my water. I did not want to feel that! That all goes well, and then about 30 minutes later my blood pressure drops super low. Like 70’s over something. I wasn’t showing any symptoms thankfully, but they wanted to wait to break my water until that came up.

They break my water (they had to do it twice), and it was nothing like I expected. My water broke naturally with Saylor, so that is what I had to compare it to, but I didn’t even know they broke it haha. Epidurals are amazing. Highly recommend. I’m still not progressing as quickly as they’d like, so I’m rolling around and laying with things between my legs to try and get this baby to drop the last little bit.

Then probably around 8:30pm or so, I started getting the feeling! You know, the feeling like you need to poop, haha. I was trying so hard to hold it in because you feel like you have no control over your body and I was nervous about what is was doing. Luckily I didn’t poop, but that meant it was go time! The rest of the time and events are kind of a blur. The midwives and nurse came in and got everything ready to go, were talking to me about what I needed to do and whatnot. Troy was able to put gloves on and actually help deliver the baby which was really cool. Remi Rowe was born at 9:19pm after pushing through only a few contractions. She was able to lay on my chest for a good chunk of time before they took her and cleaned her off, and they delayed the cord clamping. I had such a wonderful experience with my midwives, I would highly recommend looking into having one if you haven’t before! Remi was healthy, so cute, and came out ready to nurse.

She was born COVERED in that white stuff…so weird! Saylor had hardly any so it was new to us.

She seemed so much smaller than Saylor was, even though it was only a few ounces. She wasn’t as swollen as Saylor and didn’t have as much hair. Her features are also smaller. She’s so cute!

Saylor coming to meet Remi is something I’ll never forget. She has been so excited to have a baby sister and was so excited that she was finally “out of my tummy”! She’s been so gentle and loving with her, it is so sweet.

We stayed 2 days in the hospital and went home around lunchtime on Saturday. I was anxious to get home and be in my own bed and space, but I almost didn’t want to leave the hospital, haha.

I am so glad sweet Remi has joined our family, and that Saylor has a sister. I love my little family and am so thankful for my happy and healthy girls!

Belly Armor Blanket

Today I am excited to share with you a product I discovered while I was pregnant…and I so wish I had discovered it before! Belly Armor carries products that shield against everyday radiation, with up to 99.9% effectiveness. That is incredible! I know I am not the only pregnant lady who sits with her laptop propped up on her belly. When using a Belly Blanket, mom and baby are protected from non-ionizing radiation that can potentially be harmful.

Belly Armor has partnered with Healthy Child Healthy World to help address public health issues that affect our children, and empower parents in protecting their children from harmful environmental hazards. For every Healthy Child Blanket sold (pictured), $10 will be donated to the non-profit organization Healthy Child Healthy World. These products are safe from toxic chemicals, common allergens, heavy metals, and are completely 100% safe to use during pregnancy!

Let’s do our part and protect our babies in any way we can!

My Love of Freshly Picked

I have said it many times, and I won’t stop saying it anytime, but I love Freshly Picked! These were the first pair of shoes that fit Saylor properly, and she wore her first pair into the ground. FP is a small company from Utah, was featured on Shark Tank, and all around has an amazing story. They are very active in their community, in the mommy world, and with their customers. I love that!

Recently they came out with a new line of Mary Jane Moccasins. As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted them to be my next babies first pair! They are so very cute…and the scallop detail!? Obsessed.

I can’t wait to put these cute blush pink Mary Janes on the new baby! Blush and Platinum are my favorite colors. They have came out with so many cute and trendy patterns and prints, anyone can find something they love!

What have been your favorite pair of moccs? And what do you love most about them? I LOVE the cute little footprints they get once they start walking. I love that they stay on their feet. And I love that Saylor actually likes wearing them! Let me know what you love about Freshly Picked🙂

LOL, sums her up pretty well!

Purple Posie Designs

Hi! Guess what I realized today? That it’s been just over a year that I have been blogging here. I can’t believe it has been a year and I’ve had so much fun collaborating with companies and getting to know other bloggers.

Today I wanted to share with you Purple Posie Designs. They create beautiful handmade items such as keepsake journals and journal books. They are made with so much love and detail, and make a great gift. When I was younger I was into scrapbooking, and loved making things like these for different events in my life like high school graduation or Christmas one year. It is such a nice way to store and show your memories. They are very personal, and such an easy way to create and store your memories!

I love that there are blank pages to doodle and write notes on.

Saylor loves “reading” the stories and loves all the fun things to play with on the pages. As she gets older I’ll have her doodle up the story books 🙂 Shop all their cute stuff HERE and follow them on Instagram HERE!

Maternity Style with PinkBlush

Hi! Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had a nice, relaxing day thus far. Let’s talk about maternity wear. For starters I should probably admit that my “pregnancy style” has consisted of leggings, oversized sweatshirts, and Uggs. I’m not kidding, LOL! I should probably be embarrassed, but it’s so cold here and with my growing belly nothing fits right anymore. At least on Sunday’s I try to give my favorite leggings a break, and wear something more stylish.

If you are pregnant, or have been pregnant recently, I’m sure you have heard of Pink Blush Maternity. They are a company that brings us affordable, comfortable, and cute clothes. I recently got this floral maxi dress from them, and I’m in love! I’ve never been a big fan of maxi dresses on me, being tall and whatnot, I felt like they never looked right on me. But when I’m pregnant that all changes haha. My dress is about 2″ longer than some of the other maxi dresses out there, so I jumped on it and I’m glad I did. I will also be able to wear it while nursing, yay.

Here are a couple of my other favorite things right now:

This lacey number is so pretty.

I love this blue color, but this maxi dress comes in many colors.

I love the scalloped hem on this one!

I really like the shimmer on this one.

And I love the chiffon sleeves on this one!

If you follow me on IG (and if you don’t, you should @robynmeacham), then you are here for the giveaway. For an extra 3 entries, head to Pink Blush and leave me a comment on what piece of clothing you would buy if you won!  Remember Pink Blush for all your cute pregnancy clothing needs!

Healthy Habits with RAWberry Smoothies

Hey all! If you follow me on Instagram (@robynmeacham), you know that I have been working with @rawberry_smoothies for a few weeks now. I was excited about this not just because I love smoothies, but because being pregnant has made me extra aware of the added nutrients I should be getting. Starting my day off with a smoothie packed full of healthy things ensures that I am doing something right.

Secondly, Saylor LOVES them…and normally isn’t the best eater. She is picky, and while she likes fruit, veggies are a whole other story. I love that I can sneak in kale or spinach, or even things like dates(what!?), into something she actually likes, likes helping me make, and it isn’t something I am forcing her to eat. Win!

Another feature I love about their company is that everything is prepackaged, and pre-portioned to the exact perfect amount. No waste! And they allow me to try combinations of things I would have never thought to have try! Think pears, dates, agave, grapes…so many fun things! Also, everything comes delivered right to your door! Hello, convenience.

RAWberry is a subscription service. Each week you choose whether you want a 3, 4, or 5 day plan. Each day makes enough for 2-16 oz. smoothies. It ships for free, and like I mentioned above, gets delivered right to your doorstep every Sunday. You can cancel, pause, or stop at any time. Right now they are delivering between Ogden and Utah County. If you are outside of those regions, let them know you are interested, as they plan to expand soon!

I truly recommend and have enjoyed RAWberry. I challenge you to be a little bit healthier this year, and this is the perfect way to start!

Double Stroller Buying Guide with Baby Cubby!

Since I can now publicly talk about being pregnant and having another baby come May, I can talk about all the fun things that go along with that, yay! Enter, double strollers. Do I really need one? Saylor will be about 4 by the time this baby comes, and I honestly don’t use a stroller a whole lot with her. I’ve thought, well I could just get one that has a kick board for her, I plan on carrying the baby for as long as I can get away with it…all these thoughts that I’m sure second time moms have.

36dc66f072f69068abbfae2ce33462e8-large

A couple weeks ago I went into the Baby Cubby to try and make my decision and answer questions I had. If you are local to Utah, I’m sure you have visited or heard of Baby Cubby.  I love visiting them as opposed to a big box retailer.  They really focus on trying to be a resource to us parents, and not just sell us “stuff”. They make a point to help us when we feel overwhelmed about becoming a parent. The team at Baby Cubby is made up of parents who have been there, so they are passionate about encouraging, inspiring, and reminding parents how amazing we are and how important our role is. They carry the safest baby gear, and provide a place for a fun shopping experience. They price match and offer free shipping online on orders of $49 and are very engaged with their customers. You can find out more about who they are and what they do, HERE.

Going into the Baby Cubby, I sort of have an idea of what I liked and what I didn’t like. I knew I didn’t want a side by side stroller; I have seen friends struggle getting them through doorways and crowds. They just don’t seem convenient for me! I tested one out in the store and was actually surprised how EASY it was to maneuver, so don’t completely rule it out for yourself until you have tested it!

img_6633 This is the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller.

My top 3 I wanted to checkout were the UppaBaby, Britax B-Agile, and the City Select.

img_6607       img_6634

They all have similar frames and similar wheel sizes and similar canopies. The City Select seems so long, and surprisingly didn’t drive as easily as I was expecting, considering how popular it is! I checked that one off my list.

img_6622

The UPPAbaby Vista double stroller is definitely a luxury stroller, and has the price tag to come along with it. I really like the look of it and it seems there is a bit more leg room for the back seat. I learned that you can buy the stroller as a set, meaning with the second seat, kick board, etc…instead of buying everything separate, which may save you money in the long run.

img_6604  My personal fave…the Britax B-Ready.

I was so, so impressed with this Britax stroller! They have a new model that I was excited to checkout. I like the idea of having the second seat down below, instead of out front. Saylor really liked that, too! The handle bar moves up and down, and not just in and out (if that makes sense), and I love that. We have always used Britax car seats as well, and would use their infant car seat with this for the new baby as well.

img_6636

The Baby Cubby has also created a blog titled How to Pick the Perfect Double Stroller, which you can read HERE. They are the pros, so I suggest reading it. I haven’t made my decision quite yet, since I still have a few months to decide. Let me know what you guys have used and love! I would love some advice! Thanks Baby Cubby for sponsoring this post and making shopping for a little fun and educational.
