Fool Proof Summer Hair Ideas for your Littles!

If you are like me, you aren’t exactly skilled in the hair department. I have about 2 looks that I rotate for Saylor. And if you have a daughter who is like mine, almost 3 and still doesn’t have long enough hair for one pony tail…this post is for YOU! I experimented with 3 different looks, styles that leave no hair down because it is hot has Haiti here. These are particularly easy, and don’t take more than 5 minutes!

The first is a 3 pony mohawk. Cute and seriously so easy! This one was Saylor’s favorite. All you have to do is divide the hair into 3 horizontal sections, and pony them! Easy, and as cute, as pie.

 IMG_1666 That face, though…haha.

For the second look, all you have to do is join the 3 ponytails from the look above. Instead of keeping each ponytail out as you create a new one, simply add it to your new one.

For the last look, start off with a pony on top using about 1/3 of the hair. Then separate the pony in half and create pigtails with the rest of the hair. I’m telling you, you guys, these are SO SIMPLE!

If you didn’t notice, all 3 of these looks are based off of a single pony on the top of the head. I like to keep Saylor’s hair out of her face as much as possible, especially in the summer when it is so hot. I hope you guys give these a try and let me know what you think!

Does anyone else suffer from acne? I didn’t really start having it until just over a year ago. And let me tell you, it is the worst. Not many people know just how bad it really was, thankfully right now it is 75% better than what it was. I’ll go more into depth in a later post. I was getting bad hormonal acne around my chin, acne all over my back, it was so bad. It made me so self-conscious. I still am, to be honest. I only wear certain clothes, very very rarely have no face makeup on, it is horrible! I have tried everything. Not eating certain foods, this and that face wash, this cream, that pill, everything besides Accutane, I’ve done it! I’m here to tell you that it can get better! Honestly I am not positive if it is time, or products, or a combination of both that have helped, but something has changed. I’ve been religious to a few products over the last year, and I’m here to share. IMG_2203

  1. Simple Cleansing MIcellar Water – I use this after I take off my makeup to make sure I get every last thing off. In place of a toner, I suppose. It is cheap and leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.
  2. Kate Somervile EradiKate – I actually was just introduced to this about a month ago, and I’M OBSESSED. It is just a drying lotion, I put it on pimples at night, and by the morning they are 50% less inflamed and red. It really helps. I suggest ordering off their site directly, using a 10% off coupon you can easily find, and getting all the free samples!
  3. Salis Skincare, Lavender & Jasmine Salt Scrub – HEAVEN SENT. Laura from Salis is seriously an angel. I discovered them on IG a while ago and knew that when I moved to Utah, I needed to go in to get a facial from her. Well I have had 2 and can’t wait for my next one. Lavender is particularly good for acne, and the jasmine smells so yummy. This is a staple for me.
  4. Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap – Say hello to your new favorite soap for your chest and back. Throw away those Neutrogena washes, because I know they are in your showers! The fruit extracts help break down dead skin cells and acts as a gentle exfoliator. Try it!
  5. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer – I use this every morning. I have found that my skin does better when I moisturize only once a day. Yours might be different! I love that this is lightweight, doesn’t have a scent, and has SPF.
  6. Salis Skincare Blackhead Removal Mask – another MUST HAVE! This mask isn’t one you wear over your whole face. You focus on the areas where you have blackheads, and wear the mask overnight. Not only does this help with blackheads, it’ll shrink your pores!

Hope you guys find this info useful, and if you are on the market for some new products, give them a try! I know that everyones skin is different, so these might not work for you like they have for me, but it is worth a shot! What products have worked for your acne prone skin? I always love to hear!

Savvy Curls Review!

Who has heard of Savvy Curls? If you haven’t, I feel sorry for you! But don’t worry, I am here to give you the honest truth about them, and to show you my results.

Savvy Curls are hair wraps made with thermal retentive and curl forming materials that work in conjunction with the heat zone on your scalp to produce “no heat” curls. It is genius! I was intrigued and knew I had to give it a try! My hair doesn’t hold a curl very well, so I was very curious to see if this product would make a difference.

To start, you are supposed to let your hair dry almost completely. They then recommend to use mousse on your dry hair before you wrap, but mousse makes me itchy and I don’t care for it, so I used a sea salt texture spray. IMG_1498

This is my almost dry hair, just sprayed with product.

Place the band on your head and take small sections of hair and wrap them around. It really is so easy!

The finished wrap is pretty enough to wear out! Now time to wait until hair is completely dry.

This is what I used to help hold the curls. Smells so good, too!

The end results! I wore the wrap for about 3 hours. You can wear it as long as you want and need. They recommend sleeping in it too, it is so comfortable and soft it honestly doesn’t bother you! I was genuinely surprised on the type of curls this wrap created, and they lasted into the next day, even after I had slept on them. This will definitely be saving me time in the mornings getting ready, and as a mom, that is huge!

I highly recommend trying out Savvy Curls! Check them out on IG, @savvy_curls, it is fun to see different tutorials and before and after pictures. Save your hair and time by using Savvy Curls!

See their shop HERE and other tutorial videos HERE.

Let me know what you think and your results!

Friday Shopping Haul

I had a pretty good day shopping today…but then again, when isn’t shopping a good thing? I got some sweet deals and I wanted to share! I hit up Nordstrom Rack and Ulta, located conveniently down the street from me! You know I came home and price matched everything, to be sure I’m getting the best price.

Here are my goodies from the Rack…

images I’ve been wanting a neutral colored cross body, and found just what I was looking for in this Kate Spade!

I found these ADORABLE gold sea wees, size 1, for only $10! No, I’m not pregnant, and they definitely don’t fit Saylor, but I had to have them at that price! The best I could find online was at…I found code RMNDIAPERS20, and if you spend more than $49 they’ll ship for free.

Last is this pair of Riudavets Avarcas for Saylor. They are about 2 sizes too big but I had to get them for her. $19, yes please! Sorry I couldn’t find any good deals online…but see here for the exact pair.

Now of Ulta. I tend to prefer Ulta over Sephora, and here’s why. I love that they carry salon products, drugstore products, high end products…you get it. Ulta also has a way better reward system than Sephora does, and they always have coupons! Today I had $3 off from reward points, as well as a $3.50 off a $15 or more purchase. I’m going to link the exact products from Ulta with no shopping around, because they aren’t even that expensive to begin with.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. This has taken me a while to purchase, I have a very strong loyalty to Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. If you have ever used it, you understand. I used my sister’s Butter Bronzer the other weekend and decided I needed to branch out. It smells like the most perfect beach day, and at half the price, you can’t lose.

Batiste Dry Shampoo, tropical scent. I haven’t tried this brand yet, and apparently it is the best!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub, Coconut Lime. Who doesn’t love a good sugar scrub in a yummy flavor? I use a scrub every day after I was my armpits, tmi? Sort of weird and maybe gross I know, but I hate how sometimes deodorant can pile up and get weird feeling, so I like to use an exfoliant to get it all off. I also always exfoliate before a spray tan, duh!

Well that covers everything! I’m excited to try out and use all my goodies. What are your favorite things to shop for and do you always look for a good deal? Where are your go to places to shop? I want to hear! Until next time…

Monday Must-Have’s!

I am excited to do my first “Monday Must-Have’s” post today. Each Monday (hopefully), I will share a few things I am currently loving. These things could be fashion related, beauty related, food, things for Saylor…pretty much anything. Today I’m going to go in the BEAUTY direction.

-First things first, my favorite current obsession, the Makeup Eraser. My sister told me about this and it sounded like a lazy girls dream. You get it wet and wipe your face with it, and it removes all makeup. No soap or face wash needed. GLORIOUS! It is machine washable and you get tons of use out of it. I use it about 4 times between each wash. I bought mine at Sephora.

-Next up is the Tubby Todd Dream Cream. If you have followed my blog, you know I have talked about them before (see HERE). I am a big Tubby Todd fan, and I don’t go a day without using this lotion on myself. I get dry skin, I will itch myself raw, it’s so bad. This stuff is a DREAM though! I use it on my hands, elbows, legs, pretty much everywhere, and it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy which I love. Follow them on IG too, they post coupon codes and have giveaways!

-One word: ColourPop. Or two, I’m not really sure. If you have never heard of ColourPop I feel bad for you. It’s a cosmetic company out of LA and I have been a loyal customer for about 8 months. My little sister first introduced me, she’s super into makeup and YouTubers, and I guess all their stuff is popular in that world. My current favs from there are their Ultra Matte Lips. They last ALL DAY LONG. It’s amazing. They are so so affordable, pretty much everything is only $6, and if you sign up for their emails you get a $5 off coupon, so basically you are stealing from them. For that price, it’s worth a try. My must have shade is Clueless!

-If you are a foundation loving cake face like me, you MUST try the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation. When looking for a foundation, I look for a fuller coverage and long lasting. This one is everything 🙂 It’s super affordable also, and if you purchase from Ulta you can use one of their coupons! I use the color 102, and will probably go up to 103 in the summer.

-Last but certainly not least, the holy grail of highlighters, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, in Opal. They come in a few different colors, opal just happens to be my favorite. Youtuber Jaclyn Hill did a collaboration with them and came out with a limited shade, and I’ve heard amazing things about that one as well. These “skin perfectors” are literally the best things you will ever put on your face. They go on so easily and last all day long, it’s come quality stuff. Never change.

Has anyone tried any of my MMH? What are your thoughts and what are some of your must have’s?! I would love to hear!
