COLLAGEN!

Hey all! Have you guys heard of the collagen trend going on right now? I first heard about it and the benefits of it earlier in the year, while I was pregnant. I heard that it was specifically really good for your hair, nails, and skin, and all I could think about is how I need in on this because we all know how much our hair falls out postpartum. (well mine at least, anyways, ugh!)

Collagen is naturally produced in our body, but once we hit a certain age, the production dramatically decreases and the signs of aging start setting in. Supplementing collagen daily can help to counteract this. Now, I am no doctor, but I talked to my midwife and was given the go ahead to start this. I have been taking it daily for about 2 weeks and I have noticed my nails are growing like crazy, and seem super strong. I am anxious to see the effects that it has on my hair, if it will help with postpartum hair loss.

    

This powder from Sports Research is flavorless and easily dissolves in water (and other liquids). I like to have it in the morning, with my breakfast. I mix a scoop with room temperature water and shake it up. I also heard that you can pretty much add it to anything, because it mixes well and is flavorless! Think smoothies, pancakes, muffins…the possibilities really are endless.
